Geographical location

The village is about 24 kilometers south of the Polish state border with the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast . The Rawa river rises not far from the village.

history

Today's Stara Różanka was created in 1399 according to Kulm law with an area of 50  hooves . The fighting in the years that followed made the village desolate. Therefore, in 1482, the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order Martin Truchsess von Wetzhausen granted the right to settle again, this time for an area of 60 Włóka. During this time a church was built in the village, which from 1725 belonged to the parish in Rastenburg. Polish residents are known from 1692. With the growing proportion of Poles, services in the church were partly held in Polish.

In 1873 a Dutch windmill was built, which has been restored and is still there today. In January 1945 the area was captured by the Red Army . As a result of the Second World War , Alt Rosenthal became part of Poland as Stara Różanka.

Population development

The following shows the population development of the village. In 1817 there were 20 residential buildings in the settlement.
