Kwiedzina (German Queden ) is a village in Poland in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . The place is part of the rural community Kętrzyn (Rastenburg) in the powiat Kętrzyński .

history

In 1342 the four men Warpun , Wysnor , Meirun and Bartold received from Ludolf König 33 Włóka land for use. The foundation stone for today's Kwiedzina was laid with the establishment of a village according to Kulmer law at this point . A mill that existed in the village was transferred to a Matzke in 1492 by the procurator Rastenburgs Jordan von Berehenrode .

In 1785 there were nine houses in Queden. In a new list from 1817, the number of residential buildings had not changed and 82 residents were counted. At the end of the Second World War , the area was taken by the Red Army and subsequently passed to Poland. In 1970 there were 50 inhabitants. After the dissolution of the Gromadas , Kwiedzina was part of the Schulzenamt ( sołectwo ) Pożarki (Pohiebels) in the municipality of Kętrzyn from 1973 .
