Przeczniak ( German  Hermannshof ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Sołectwo Salpik (Schulzenamt Salpkeim) of the Gmina Kętrzyn (rural community Rastenburg) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ). From 1975 to 1998 the place belonged to the Olsztyn Voivodeship .

Przeczniak is located 2 kilometers southeast of Nakomiady (Eichmedien) and can be reached via secondary roads from the former district town of Mrągowo (Sensburg , 18 kilometers) or from the current district metropolis of Kętrzyn (Rastenburg , 15 kilometers). There is no train connection.

history

The place formerly known as " Hermannshof " (around 1871 also Hermanshof ) consisted of a large courtyard with its outbuildings before 1945. It was part of the rural community of Eichmedien (now in Polish: Nakomiady) and from 1874 to 1945 it was assigned to the district of the same name, and thus belonged to the Sensburg district in the Olsztyn district of the Prussian province of East Prussia .

As a result of the Second World War , Hermannshof came to Poland in 1945 and received the Polish place name "Przeczniak".

Religions

Before 1945, the predominantly Protestant population was ecclesiastically oriented towards Eichmedien (Polish: Nakomiady), whose parish belonged to the parish of Sensburg (Mrągowo) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Today the inhabitants of Przeczniak are almost without exception Catholic . Your parish church is the Protestant church in Nakomiady until 1945 (Eichmedien) and is assigned to the Deanery Kętrzyn I - Południowy-Zachód ( Rastenburg - Southwest) in the Archdiocese of Warmia of the Catholic Church in Poland . Protestant church members living here now belong to the parish church in Kętrzyn in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
