Janówko ( German  Johanneshof ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the urban and rural municipality Węgorzewo (Angerburg) in the powiat Węgorzewski ( Angerburg district ).

Janówko is located two kilometers northwest of the city center of Węgorzewo (Angerburg) in the northeast of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

history

The place formerly called Johanneshof has been mentioned since 1905. Almost exclusively consisting of a large courtyard, the place was until 1945 a residential area of ​​the municipality or city of Angerburg in the district of Angerburg in the administrative district of Gumbinnen in the Prussian province of East Prussia .

In 1945 Johanneshof came in consequence of the war with the entire East Prussia to Poland and received the Polish form of the name "Janówko". Today the place is the seat of a Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ) and a village in the network of the urban and rural municipality Węgorzewo in the powiat Węgorzewski , before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then it belongs to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .
