Jerzykowo ( German  Georgenau ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the urban and rural municipality Węgorzewo (Angerburg) in the powiat Węgorzewski ( Angerburg district ).

Geographical location

Jerzykowo is located west of the Labab Lake ( Jezioro Łabap in Polish ) in the northeast of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . The district town of Węgorzewo (Angerburg) is 14 kilometers to the northeast.

history

Before 1945, the small town, called Hintz dismantling until July 25, 1861, essentially consisted of a large courtyard. It was a residential area of ​​the community Rosengarten ( Polish Radzieje ) in the district of Angerburg in the administrative district of Gumbinnen in the Prussian province of East Prussia .

As a result of the war, Georgenau came to Poland in 1945 with all of southern East Prussia under the name "Jerzykowo". Today it is part of the urban and rural municipality Węgorzewo in the powiat Węgorzewski , before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then it has belonged to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .
