Węgorzewko ( German  Gut Angerburg ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the urban and rural municipality of Węgorzewo (Angerburg) in the powiat Węgorzewski ( Angerburg district ).

Geographical location

Węgorzewko is located in the northeast of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , two kilometers east of the center of Węgorzewo .

history

Before 1945, Gut Angerburg was a very large estate of national importance. The Gutsbezirk Angerburg in 1874 with the living space Reussen ( Polish Ruska Wieś ) in the newly built office district throats ( Polish Kal ) incorporated. He belonged to the circle Angerburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1910 the manor district of Angerburg had 101 inhabitants. On September 30, 1928, Gut Angerburg was incorporated into the municipality of Angerburg .

Together with all of southern East Prussia , the city of Angerburg - and with it the Angerburg estate - was transferred to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war . The former manor district was given the Polish name "Węgorzewko". Today it is a place in the network of the urban and rural municipality Węgorzewo in the powiat Węgorzewski , before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

Ecclesiastically was the Angerburg estate and the village of Węgorzewko is oriented towards Angerburg or Węgorzewo. Before 1945 it was parish in the Protestant parish church of Angerburg in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church of the Good Shepherd in the Diocese of Ermland . Today the Church of St. Peter and Paul is the responsible Catholic parish church within the diocese of Ełk (Lyck) of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland , while the Protestant church members to the parish of Węgorzewo as a subsidiary of the parish in Giżycko (Lötzen) in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .
