The forestry department ( Revierförsterei ) is a sub-authority of the forest administration . It is responsible for taking care of the forest land in the forest district in charge and is subject to a higher forest authority , usually a forestry office or a forester. The name of a forestry can vary depending on the state, region and type of ownership. This also includes the comparable institutions of the large private forest. The head of the forester is called the district forester . The main tasks are the management of the forest from an economic point of view. This includes the production, harvesting of wood and by-products as well as ensuring the special protective and recreational functions of the forest on the same area .

Germany

As a rule, forest offices in Germany are divided into district foresters ( company districts ). In Schleswig-Holstein the official name is "Försterei". The operating districts usually comprise the boundaries of individual villages or cities and city districts or the several villages in a "network". In Thuringia the entire country, according to § 59 State Forest Law by the top Forest Service in State Forest districts and these in forest management areas ( forest areas divided). A forester's place of work is the forester's house .

The forestry (lit. girininkija ) is a sub-authority of a chief forestry (lit. miškų urėdija ) in Lithuania . The 350 foresters' offices are managed and managed by the foresters (lit. girininkas ) (status: 2013). Every forester has at least one or two deputies ( girininko pavaduotojas ). The forestry department is subject to some sub- forestry departments (lit. Eiguva ).

In 1429, the first Lithuanian forest ranger was mentioned in a document by the crusaders as a forest official . The first foresters' offices came into being between the 15th and 16th centuries. In 1518 there was the Birštonas forestry and in 1524 the Darsūniškis forestry . In the mid-16th century that had Grand Duchy of Lithuania 43 forest districts, including 14 in the territory of the present Republic of Lithuania ( Alytus , Birštonas, Darsūniškis, Rumšiškės , Karmėlava , Žiežmariai , Gegužinė , Lavoriskes , Kaunas , Vilkija , Merkinė , Veliuona , Skirsnemunė and Jurbarkas ). In 1997 there were 474 foresters.
