Ryszard Bogusz

Ryszard Bogusz (born March 2, 1951 in Bielsko-Biała (Bielitz) ) is a Lutheran theologian ; Until 2015 he was Bishop of the Diocese of Wroclaw of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

In 1976 Ryszard Bogusz began his vicariate in the parish Opatrzności Bożej ("Providence of God") in Wrocław (Breslau) , took over the parish administration of this parish in 1981 and in 1992 became a regular pastor. From 1994 to 2015 he also held the office of Bishop of the Diocese of Wroclaw within the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland.

Ryszard Bogusz is the initiator of many international and inter-church contacts, including to Germany. He is the recipient of the "Brat Albert" award. In 2000 he received the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class.

Bishop Ryszard Bogusz is currently also Secretary of the Wroclaw Polish Ecumenical Council .
