Sámi soga lávlla

Sápmi , the Sámi settlement area in the far north of Europe

Sámi soga lávlla ( Sami , German: The Song of the Sámi People ) is the name of the official hymn of the Sámi , who live in the far north of Europe in the four states of Finland , Norway , Russia and Sweden . The Norwegian title of the anthem is Samefolkets sang , the Swedish title Samefolkets sång . The anthem is sung, for example, on the Sami national holiday, February 6th.

history

Flag of the Sami

The anthem was selected together with the Sami flag at the All-Nordic Sami Conference in Åre in 1986 . The text is older, however, and goes back to a poem written in 1906 by Isak Mikal Saba , a teacher from the Norwegian village of Nesseby . Saba was also the first Sami politician to be elected to a national parliament. From 1907 to 1912 he represented Finnmark in Storting for the Norwegian Arbeiderpartiet (AP) .

In particular, the complicated melody and the last line “Sápmi us, the seeds” repeatedly led to discussions as to whether the hymn was still up to date. In 2007, the Sami artist Liv Tone Boine released a new version, which, however, has no official status.

The song of the Sami people
Far north, Sápmi shimmers
gently in the glow of the Great Bear [constellation]:
vastness stretches out in breadth,
lake by lake as far as the eye can see.
Slopes, ridges, bare rocks
rise to the sky.
Rivers roar, forests rustle,
steel-gray, steep rock peaks shoot
out against the wild sea.
Wintertime with storms and cold
snow flurries without measure or goal.
But the Sami family is deeply attached to
the home and what it does.
For a hiker, the moon shines, the
northern lights shimmer, the stars sparkle.
The call of reindeer is heard in the bushes,
boom from the lake and tundra,
sleigh noises along the winter path.

And when the summer sun shines
mountain and forest, sea and beaches,
fishermen watch quietly in gold shine,
swing quietly on sea and lake.
The birds shine golden
and the river shines like silver.
Oars glimmer, oars glitter,
through the silence and through whirlpools
the people drive with singing. Sápmi's family and tribe

endured and endured voyages of destruction, devil traders, cheeky false tax officials. Hail to you, tenacious Sami tribe! Hail to you, root and flame of peace! Never fought wars, never shed brother-blood with the silent Sami tribe. Once upon a time, our ancestors overcame evildoers. Brethren, let us also resist those who seek to subjugate us! Hardy descendant of the Sons of the Sun! You should never be conquered when you guard your golden language, remember the ancestral speech: Sápmi us, the Sami people!

Samefolkets sang
Langt mot nord under Karlsvognen
sakte stiger Samelandet:
Vidde seg bak vidde strekker,
sjø ved sjø hvor øyet rekker.
Lier, åser, snaue rabber
hever seg mot Himmelbrynet.
Elver bruser, skoger suser,
stålgrå, steep fjell-nes skyter
mot det ville hav seg ut.

Winter with storm and culde,
snefokk uten mål and måte.
Sameslekten dog av hjetzt
henger med sitt hjem og yrke.
For en vandrer månen skinner,
nordlys flimrer, stjerner tindrer.
Cleanly hear the mellom,
sus and brus fra sjø and slette,
pulkestøy long vintervei.

Og når summer soles gyller
fjell og skoger, hav og strender,
fiskere i gullglans gynger,

gynger style on hav and innsjø.
Gyllent glasses are used
and so are stored in the store.
Staker glimter, årer glitrer,
Folket and sang det farer
gjennom silent stryk and foss.

Samelandets ætt and stem
utholdt har and tålt så
little herjingstokter, bannskaps dealer,
frekke falske skattefuter.
Hill deg, seige samestamme!
Hill deg, fredens red and flame!
Aldri he the kamper kjempet,
aldri broder-blod har runnet
i the silent sameslekt.

Våre fedre for has been placed
over the som urett øvet.
La oss også motstå, brødre,
som vil oss underkue!
Solens sønners seige avkom!
Aldri shall you overvinnes
om ditt gyldne språk du vokter,
husker dine fedres valley:
Sameland for seeds!

Samefolkets sång
Nordvart nedom Karlavagnen
ser du Samelandet skymta:
Fjäll bak fjäll i fjärran blåna,
sjöar sträcka sig vid sjöar,
bergens branter, fjällens toppar
Höja sig mot själva himlen;
bäckar brusa, skogar susa,
tvärbrant stupa stålgrå uddar
strävande mot stormigt hav.
Frosten härjar här om vintern,
yrsnön vräks av vilda vindar;
ändock älskar same places
denna jord av allt sitt hjärta:
Månens ljus en färdman fägnar,
flygga norrskensflammor fladdra -
klövknäpp, rengrymt hears bland snåren,
utpå insjön, över slätten
slamrar släden vägen fram.

Och när sommarns sol förgyller
skogen, havet, havets stränder,
guldomglänsta fiskefartyg
vaggas utav vattnets vågor,
gullhamn får var vattenfågel,
stommarna som silver glittra,
åror blänka, stakary blixtra,
under edång ses male störch
.

Lapland's släkte, sameätten -
obräckt har sen mäktat utstå
mördartjuder, slemma köpmän,
sluga skattekrävarskaror.
Hell, var hälsat, sega släkte!
Hell dig fridens red och fäste!
Krigisk fejd har aldrig flammat,
aldrig spilldes brödrablodet
ibland Lapplands lugna ätt.

Våra fäder övervunno
vrånga våldsmän fordomtima;
Bröder låt oss likaledes
strida segt emot förtrycket!
Solens söners starka släkte!
Dig can ingen ovän kuva,
blott ditt väna språk du vårdar,
minnes forntidsfädrens maning:
Sameland åt samerna!
