São Bartolomeu is a former municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district ( concelho ) of Vila Viçosa . The community had 853 inhabitants and an area of 0.21 km² (as of June 30, 2011).
It represented the inner city municipality of the small town ( Vila ) Vila Viçosa and was the smallest municipality in the district.
As part of the regional reform in September 2013 , the municipalities of São Bartolomeu and Conceição were merged to form the new municipality of Nossa Senhora da Conceição e São Bartolomeu . The new municipality now covers the main urban area of Vila Viçosas.
