São Bartolomeu is a former municipality in Portugal . It is a district of the city of Coimbra .

The former municipality ( Freguesia ) belongs to the district ( concelho ) of Coimbra . The community had a total area of 17 hectares and 631 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
As part of the administrative reorganization in Portugal on September 29, 2013, São Bartolomeu was merged with the municipalities of Sé Nova , Santa Cruz and Almedina to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Coimbra (Sé Nova, Santa Cruz, Almedina e São Bartolomeu) . Sé Nova became the headquarters of the new municipality. The new municipality also includes the historic center of Coimbra.
