Sé Nova is a former municipality in Portugal . It is a district of the city of Coimbra .

The former municipality ( Freguesia ) belongs to the district ( concelho ) of Coimbra . It had a total area of 1.6 km² and 6722 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
As part of the administrative reorganization in Portugal on September 29, 2013, Sé Nova was merged with the municipalities of Santa Cruz , Almedina and São Bartolomeu to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Coimbra (Sé Nova, Santa Cruz, Almedina e São Bartolomeu) . Sé Nova became the headquarters of the new municipality. The new municipality essentially comprises the historical center of Coimbra.
