São Nicolau is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Santarém . The community had 9,575 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Santarém (São Nicolau), Santarém (Marvila) , Santa Iria da Ribeira de Santarém and Santarém (São Salvador) became the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Santarém (Marvila), Santa Iria da Ribeira de Santarém, Santarém (São Salvador) e Santarém (São Nicolau) merged.
