Hans Peter Wertitsch

Hans Peter Wertitsch (born June 5, 1939 in Vienna ; † June 5, 1996 there ) was an Austrian real estate agent , art and autograph collector , patron and composer .

Life

Wertitsch graduated from high school in 1960 and passed his auditing in accounting and payroll accounting in 1961. In 1966 he was granted the concession to work as a property manager and real estate agent. From 1969 he was an independent property manager and at the same time from 1971 to 1976 owner of an art gallery (the "value gallery" named after him). In 1974 his “Metamorphoses” were premiered in the Brahms Hall of the Wiener Musikverein . In 1975 Wertitsch was awarded the Chopin Medal by the International Chopin Society in Warsaw.

His compositions were also premiered in Mexico City , Washington, DC and Warsaw .

From 1982 to 1984 he studied orchestration with Thomas Christian David at the Vienna University of Music . Wertitsch was president and honorary president of several Mozart societies.

The Federal Minister for Education, Art and Sport Hilde Hawlicek granted Wertitsch the professional title of Professor in 1989 .

In 1989, Wertitsch was the initiator and co-organizer of the first international symposium on the subject of musicians' autographs and, together with Günter Brosche , published the book Contributions to Musical Source Studies, Catalog of the Hans P. Wertitsch Collection in the Music Collection of the Austrian National Library at Verlag Hans Schneider ( Tutzing ) .

In 1994 Wertitsch was awarded the Medal of Honor by the Austrian National Library , and in 1995 the professional title of Commercial Councilor by the Chamber of Commerce . In 1995, Wolfgang Schüssel as Federal Minister for Economic Affairs awarded the Wertitsch law firm the state award in accordance with Section 68 of the Trade Regulations.
