São Paulo de Frades is a former municipality in Portugal . It is a northwestern district of the city of Coimbra .

The former municipality ( Freguesia ) belongs to the district ( concelho ) of Coimbra . The community had a total area of 9.8 km² and 12,075 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
As part of the administrative reorganization in Portugal on September 29, 2013, São Paulo de Frades was merged with the municipality of Eiras to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Eiras e São Paulo de Frades . Eiras became the headquarters of the new municipality.
