The Sächsische Industriebahnen-Gesellschaft AG was a railway company in Saxony. She was the owner of the industrial railway from Mittweida to Drei Werden and Ringethal .

history

The company was founded on November 4, 1905 by Deutsche Bank and Deutsche Credit-Anstalt in Dresden . They built a standard gauge railway which, starting from the station Mittweida the main railway Riesa-Chemnitz to the industries in the valley of Zschopau led. On May 6, 1906, the concession to build and operate a private freight railway from Mittweida to Drei Werden and Ringethal was granted. This made the Sächsische Industriebahnen-Gesellschaft, along with the Zittau-Oybin-Jonsdorfer Eisenbahn, the only railway company in Saxony that had received a permit to build a private, public transport line after 1880.

On October 12, 1906, the line from Mittweida – Drei Werden was provisionally opened. Public freight traffic was started on May 15, 1907, and a branch line to Ringethal was added in 1909. The company was run by the Kgl. Saxon State Railways . The company did not have its own resources.

On January 1, 1949, the company was transferred to public ownership and thus dissolved. From then on, the line was part of the Deutsche Reichsbahn network . Today it is closed.
