content

At the beginning of the 1920s, Paul Adolf Wagner succeeded in assembling a group of Saxon geography teachers as an editorial group for his ambitious project to impart natural and historical knowledge to the population.

In the style of a hiking guide, the Saxon hiking books represent natural and architectural sights with extensive references to their history in the form of a local history inventory. The focus of the contributions were geological and geographic perspectives. In the 1930s, the volumes also contained economic geography topics. Subtitles were:

  • A guide to the knowledge of home for school and for all nature lovers,
  • A guide to the knowledge of home for all nature and hiking enthusiasts and for school,
  • A Guide to Understanding the Becoming Home Landscape.

The volumes published in the 1930s were numbered.
