Saxon Literature Prize

The Saxon Literature Prize , officially: Literature Prize of the Saxon State Ministry for Science and Art , is a German literature prize . It has been awarded every two years by the Saxon State Ministry for Science and Art "for works (manuscripts and books) from recent years in the areas of poetry, prose and drama or for the complete works of an author" since 2012 under the name "Literature Prize" was endowed with 5500 euros; since 2018 the endowment has been 10,000 euros. The winner is determined by a jury of five members who are appointed by the Saxon State Ministry for Science and Art for a period of six years. It is desirable that the award winner has a special connection to Saxony . Between 2006 and 2010 the prize was awarded under the name “Literature Promotion Prize”.
