Andreas Altmann (poet)
Andreas Altmann (born January 4, 1963 in Hainichen ) is a German writer .
life and work
After finishing school, Andreas Altmann worked in Leipzig from 1986 and from 1990 in Berlin as a typesetter , orchestra attendant, street cleaner and assistant caretaker. From 1993 to 1996 he completed a social pedagogical degree and worked with the severely mentally handicapped. Altmann, who has been a member of the PEN Center Germany as a freelance author since 2007 , primarily writes poems that have been published in individual titles, anthologies, newspapers and literary magazines. Chansons were set to music by Jörg Kokott.
Andreas Altmann's poetry is shaped by the view of the periphery, which is rarely illuminated: “Although he has been based in Berlin for years, Altmann is not a poet of urban space. It is the small, forgotten places, the fringes of civilization, that interests this poet. ” Joachim Sartorius sums up:“ Andreas Altmann captures the impassive nature, the darkness, the farewells, and yet wants the abolition of what separates, the mixture - and finds magical images for it. "
In 2011 he gave with Axel Helbig There is another world. A poetry anthology from Saxony ( poetenladen ).
Andreas Altmann lives in Berlin .
