Brandenburg Environmental Literature Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Brandenburg Environmental Literature Prize has been awarded since 1994 by the Ministry for Rural Development, Environment and Consumer Protection of the German state of Brandenburg . The prize, named after the writer Erwin Strittmatter until 2007 , is endowed with 5000 euros. With its award, both a single literary work and the overall work of a writer can be recognized, which combines literary quality with an ethical claim to preserve the natural sphere of life in a special way. Due to the fact that Erwin Strittmatter did not belong to the regulatory police during the Nazi era, the award was renamed in 2008.
