Hans Thill (2017)

Hans Thill (born October 1, 1954 in Baden-Baden ) is a German author and translator. He lives in Heidelberg and is a member of the PEN Center Germany .

Life

Thill grew up in Bühl . He studied languages ​​in Heidelberg as well as law , German and history . In 1978 he founded the publishing house Das Wunderhorn together with Angelika Andruchowicz, Manfred Metzner, Ulla Tripp and Dorothea Lang . He has translated numerous books from French. Since 2000 he has been head of the series Poetry of the Neighbors - Poets translate poets , and since 2010 artistic director of the Künstlerhaus Edenkoben . In 2012 he gave the poetics lecture at the theological faculty of the Humboldt University in Berlin . Hans Thill, also “Writers for Peace” commissioner, was a member of the executive committee of the German PEN until April 2017.
