Mona Ozouf (born February 24, 1931 in Plourivo , Département Côtes-d'Armor or Lannilis , Département Finistère , both in Brittany ) is a French historian and writer .

Career

Mona Ozouf comes from a Breton family: her parents are Yann Sohier and Anne Le Den. In Paris, Ozouf graduated from the École normal supérieure . After the Second World War until the Hungarian uprising in 1956, she was a member of the French Communist Party .

Her husband Jacques Ozouf (married 1955) brokered the cooperation with the historians Denis Richet , Emmanuel Le Roy Ladurie and François Furet . She has been writing for the weekly newspaper Nouvel Observateur since 1964 . Mona Ozouf works as a historian at the Center national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS). Her main area of research is the French Revolution .
