Jan Kuhlbrodt

Jan Kuhlbrodt (born February 19, 1966 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a German writer .

Life

Jan Kuhlbrodt studied political economy at the University of Leipzig and philosophy and sociology at the University of Frankfurt am Main . From 1997 to 2001 he also studied at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig . He worked as a teacher in a project for juvenile prisoners and as an antiquarian . Jan Kuhlbrodt was managing director of the literary magazine Edit from 2007 to 2010 , lecturer at the University of Music and Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig and visiting professor at the German Literature Institute . Today he lives as a freelance writer in Leipzig.

He is a member of the PEN Center Germany .

Jan Kuhlbrodt is the author of narrative works , essays , poems and plays . His blog postkultur can also be understood as part of his literary oeuvre . He received u. a. 2007 a grant from the Lower Saxony Foundation's authoring program .
