Sé is a place and a former municipality ( Freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Faro . The community had 28,975 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
It formed one of the inner city parishes of Faro. Some of the city's most important structures are located here, including the eponymous cathedral (Sé), which houses the famous organ of Faro Cathedral .
With the territorial reform of September 29, 2013 , the municipalities of Faro (Sé) and Faro (São Pedro) were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Faro (Sé e São Pedro) . Faro (Sé) is the seat of this newly formed municipality.
