Sébastien Singer

Sébastien Singer (* 1974 in Winterthur ) is a Swiss cellist.

Singer studied until 1994 at the Conservatoire de Musique de Neuchâtel with François Hotz and then at the Zurich University of the Arts with Walter Grimmer , from which he graduated in 2000 with a soloist diploma. Then he was a student of Lluís Claret in Barcelona.

Since 2001 he has been a member of the Swiss Piano Trio , with which he won first prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Caltanissetta in 2003 and first prize at the International Johannes Brahms Competition in 2005. Martin Wettstein has dedicated works to him, and in 2007 he gave the world premiere of Daniel Schnyder's Triple Concerto with the Swiss Piano Trio .

In addition to working with the Swiss Piano Trio, Singer also performs with the violinist Stefan Tönz , the guitarist André Fischer and the pianists Marc Pantillon and Jérémie Tesfaye .
