Sékou Sanogo (born May 5, 1989 ) is an Ivorian football player who has been under contract with Ittihad FC since 2019 .
Life
Sanogo is a central midfielder who last played for Africa Sports in Abidjan for three seasons in the 1st division (the highest Ivorian football league) . Sanogo won the Ivorian Cup with Africa Sports in both 2009 and 2010 . The left-footed player, who can be used defensively as well as offensively, completed a trial training session lasting several days at FC Thun in October 2010 and was able to convince those responsible in the test match victory (7-0) against the Challenge League side Delsberg . Even before the contract was signed, Sanogo played another test match between the Bernese Oberland and Bundesliga club SC Freiburg on January 8, 2011 .
He played his first serious fight for FC Thun on February 6, 2011, when he was substituted on in the 69th minute. Almost 10 minutes later (in the 81st minute) the combative Ivorian saw the red card due to assault and was suspended for two games. On December 20, 2011 it was announced that the player would be loaned to FC Lausanne-Sport.
Sanogo's contract with FC Thun ran until June 30, 2013. On June 13, 2013, FC Thun announced that Sanogo will play for the first team of FC Thun again from the 2013/2014 season. His contract was extended until summer 2016. In summer 2014 he moved to BSC Young Boys. He comes to many missions and was able to fight for a regular place.
At the end of the winter transfer window in January 2016, Young Boys Bern and Hamburger SV agreed on a transfer after the player had successfully passed the medical check on the same day. The change failed because the email with the draft contract arrived 4 minutes late from Bern in Hamburg.
