Vadim Wladimirowitsch Khomizki ( Russian Вадим Владимирович Хомицкий ; born July 21, 1982 in Voskressensk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who was last under contract with HK Sochi from the Continental Hockey League .

Career

Vadim Khomizky began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Chimik Voskressensk , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Vysschaya League , the second Russian division, in the 1999/2000 season . Towards the end of his rookie year , the defender moved within the Wysschaja Liga to HK CSKA Moscow , with whom he achieved promotion to the Superliga in the 2001/02 season . In the following four years he was a regular at CSKA, with whom he was eliminated in the 2005/06 season in the second playoff round.

The 2006/07 season began Khomizki with the Iowa Stars in the American Hockey League . Their owners, the Dallas Stars , had already selected the Russians in the fourth round of the NHL Entry Draft in 2000 as the 123rd player, but never signed them afterwards. At the Iowa Stars, he scored one goal in nine games and prepared six goals. He then returned to his Russian homeland and ended the season with Chimik Moskowskaja Oblast . He also started the 2007/08 season with the Iowa Stars and finished it with Chimik Moskovskaya Oblast. From the 2008/09 season , the former national player was on the ice for Atlant Mytishchi in the newly established Continental Hockey League . This is the name Chimik Moskowskaja Oblast chose to found the KHL.

In May 2011 Khomizki was obliged by Ak Bars Kazan and completed almost 90 KHL games for the club in the following two years before moving to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in May 2013 . For Torpedo he collected three scorer points in 36 KHL games in the 2014/15 season before he was exchanged for Yevgeni Moser and Valeri Wassiljew from HK Avangard Omsk in December 2014 . For Omsk he got seven points scorer in 27 games of the season before returning to Torpedo in May 2015.

Between 2016 and 2019 he played for HK Sochi and was their team captain at times. In total, he came to 85 missions in the KHL in three years.

International

For Russia Khomizky took part in the 2006 World Cup , as well as in the Euro Hockey Tour in 2005 and 2006 . In 20 international matches, he prepared four goals in these three tournaments.
