Séra Martin

Seraphin "Séra" Martin (born July 2, 1906 in Nice ; † April 23, 1993 ) was a French athlete who was successful in the middle-distance run in the 1920s . In 1926 and 1928, he set world records in the 800-meter run and in the 1000-meter run .

With a height of 1.79 m, he had a competition weight of 68 kg.

  • World record over 800 m in 1: 50.6 minutes, set on July 14, 1928 in Paris (improvement of the two-year-old record of the German Otto Peltzer by 1.0 seconds)
  • World record over 1000 m in 2: 26.8 minutes, set on August 30, 1926 in Paris (improvement of the four-year-old record of the Swede Sven Lundgren by 1.8 seconds)

A street is named after him in the city of Moirans .
