The Sømmemoren ( Norwegian ) is a moraine in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It is located in Heimefrontfjella on the west side of the Kottas Mountains and is home to the 1,406 m high Nunatak Brandstorpnabben .
Scientists at the Norwegian Polar Institute named it in 1969 after the zoologist Iacob Dybwad Sømme (1898-1944), a leader of the Milorg resistance group against the German occupation of Norway in World War II , who was executed on March 3, 1944 after being sentenced by a German military tribunal.
