Søren Christensen

Søren Christensen (born October 31, 1940 in Gentofte ) was from August 1, 2005 the representative of the Danish State Ministry in the Faroe Islands .

Christensen replaced Birgit Kleis in the imperial ombudsman in the Faroe Islands and was the 23rd governor of the Faroe Islands since this institution was founded in 1816. Since the autonomy of 1948 he was the ninth imperial ombudsman. In 2008 he was replaced by Dan Michael Knudsen .

He became a candidate in 1968. (unequal to the German student degree, an academic degree ), and was among other things State Secretary of the Danish Ministry of Finance (1986–1994), State Secretary for Copenhagen (1994–1996) and Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers (1997–2003). Most recently he was responsible for Nordic cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
