Sørlle Buttress is a 1370 m (according to British data 1400 m ) high mountain on South Georgia . In the Allardyce Range , it looms between Mount Spaaman and the Three Brothers .
The South Georgia Survey mapped it in the course of its 1951-1957 survey campaign of South Georgia. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the mountain in 1958. It is named after the Norwegian whaling captain Petter Sørlle (1884–1933), who in 1922 held a patent for a slipway for landing whales and who was the first administrator of the whaling station in Stromness .
