from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The third generation of caterpillars of the crossed grape moth is called sweetworm . In contrast, the single-strand grape moth does not form a third generation of caterpillars. The sweet worm only occurs in warm years and under favorable conditions in mid-September / early October and attacks the ripe, sweet berries. The caterpillar of the crossed grape moth is eight to ten millimeters in size, with a yellow head and gray-green to green-brown in color. The infestation can result in major damage through gray mold rot ( Botrytis cinerea ).
