The South Atlantic states according to the United States Census Bureau

The South Atlantic States are a region in the United States of America and part of the Southern States . The region includes the states of the southern states that lie on the Atlantic, or, as in the case of West Virginia, were part of such a state. According to the United States Census Bureau, these are the states of West Virginia , Virginia , Delaware , Maryland , North Carolina , South Carolina , Georgia , Florida and the territory of Washington, DC
