Sąjūdis Square in Jonava

The Sąjūdis-Platz Jonava ( lit.Jonavos Sąjūdžio aikštė ) is a square in the center of the Lithuanian middle town Jonava , in the Kaunas district , on Jeronimas-Ralys Street. There is a bus stop at the square. Until 1960 the place was built with small houses. From 1960 to 1970 some high-rise buildings were built. In 2007 the square was renewed and renamed after Sąjūdis , the Lithuanian freedom movement. A fountain was set up. It was reconstructed with the Santarvės Jonava Square with EU support worth two million euros.
