Sławomir Zamuszko
Sławomir Zamuszko (born December 30, 1973 in Łódź ) is a Polish violist , composer and music teacher .
Zamuszko studied viola at the Łódź Music Academy from 1992 to 1997 with Zbigniew Friedman and from 1994 to 1999 composition with Jerzy Bauer . From 2000 to 2002 he completed postgraduate studies in composition with Marian Borkowski at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw . As a participant in the 8th Young Composers Meeting in Apeldoorn in 2002, he attended courses from Louis Andriessen , Hanna Kulenta , Martijn Padding and Andrew Toove .
This was followed by studies at the Institute for Applied Computer Science at the Technical University of Łódź in 2003–2004 . From 2007 to 2010 he took part in the program for the care of young composers of the European Music Center Krzysztof Penderecki (Europejskie Centrum Muzyki Krzysztofa Pendereckiego) . In 2015 he obtained a doctorate in composition and music theory. He teaches at several music schools and is professor of composition at the Gdansk Music Academy .
His compositions were u. a. Performed at the festivals Laboratorium Muzyki Współczesnej , Musica Polonica Nova and Sacrum - Non Profanum as well as at accompanying concerts in Warsaw autumn . Twice (2000 and 2003) he won a prize at the international composition competition Das neue Sorbische Lied in Cottbus. In 2010 the album Sławomir Zamuszko - Works for Orchestra was released . From 1993 to 2003 he worked with the Studio Theater Słup in Łódź, creating a musical framework for Marcel Szytenchelm's performances and happenings. He composed the music for numerous audio books for children for the Festina Lente Foundation .
