The rail vehicles of the series ТУ6П (German transcription TU6P ) of the Soviet Railways (SŽD) are narrow-gauge railcars equipped with a long passenger cabin , which were created as a variant of the SŽD series ТУ6А .

history

The production of the railcar began in 1985 in the Kambarka engineering works . It is a variant of the SŽD series ТУ6А . The railcar differed from the TU6A locomotive in that it had a longer passenger cabin . The index Д in its name is not an abbreviation and the railcars were numbered independently of the ТУ6A diesel locomotive . For example, there is an inventory number 0001 for both the ТУ6П and the ТУ6A . The first railcar was donated to the Republic of Vietnam before it was possible to come up with a design for a variant of the more modern SŽD series ТУ8 .

Technical characteristics

The power transmission is analogous to that of the ТУ6А locomotive. The Rottenkraftwagen is powered by a diesel engine with mechanical power transmission. It is intended for the transport of people on narrow-gauge railways with a track width of 750 mm. The passenger cabin consisted of three standard cabins. The production of the railcars was stopped in 1988 after 56 vehicles of the type TU6P had been produced. The cabin is well insulated and clearly laid out; a special heater is provided for heating. The railcar was equipped with a pulling and pushing device that is common for narrow-gauge railways , but it could also be equipped with an automatic central buffer coupling.
