The machine factory Kambarka ( Russian Камбарский машиностроительный завод , Kambarski maschinostroitelny sawod ) is a manufacturer of rail vehicles in the city of Kambarka in the Udmurt Republic ( Russia ).

history

The company goes back to an ironworks that went into operation after six years of construction in 1767. It was initially engaged in smelting iron and producing equipment for a nearby sawmill . In 1950 it was re-profiled for the construction of rail vehicles, mainly narrow-gauge diesel locomotives with gauges of 750 mm to 1067 mm. Today it has the legal form of Obschtschestvo s ogranitschennoi otvetstvennostju ( OOO , comparable to an American LLC ).

In addition to the production for Russian railways, rail vehicles of the Kambarka machine factory are or have been to Estonia , Latvia , Lithuania , Ukraine , Belarus , Bulgaria , Slovakia , Poland , Argentina , Vietnam , Cambodia , Cuba , Mali , Uzbekistan , Tajikistan , Turkmenistan , Kyrgyzstan , Kazakhstan , Azerbaijan , Lebanon , Guinea and Nicaragua exported.
