The locomotives of the series ТУ6А (German transcription TU6A ) of the Soviet Railways (SŽD) are narrow-gauge diesel locomotives , which were developed as an optimized version of the SŽD series ТУ6 .
history
The production of the locomotive began in 1973 in the Kambarka engineering works . It is an improved variant of the SŽD series ТУ6 . The index А in their name is no shortcut and the locomotives were numbered regardless of the ТУ6. The ТУ6 and the ТУ6А each have an inventory number 0001 . The locomotive differed from the SŽD series ТУ4 by the more powerful diesel engine and the use of a mechanical transmission. Originally the structure was the same as that of the ТУ4, but from the 1970s the appearance of the locomotives changed radically; from then on the locomotive was more like the SŽD series ТУ7 . This adjustment occurred in the context of inventory numbers 0459 - 0482 . The entire locomotive was produced until 1988. The last diesel locomotive delivered had inventory number 3915 . In 2005 she was on the narrow-gauge railway in Kulykiwka . Today the ТУ6А is the most numerous locomotive on the narrow-gauge railways in Russia . The ТУ6А.2360 was the only locomotive in the series that was used on a children's railway . This locomotive ran on a children's railway in Yaroslavl from 1982 onwards, where it came from the sleeper factory in Kharovsk in the Vologda region . In 2009 the diesel locomotive was retired and scrapped.
Technical characteristics
The locomotive is a diesel locomotive with mechanical power transmission. It is intended for the execution of shunting work , freight and passenger transport on narrow-gauge railways with a gauge of 750 mm and for industrial companies with the same gauge. The machinist's cabin is well insulated and clearly laid out; a special heater is provided for heating. The locomotive was equipped with a pulling and pushing device that is common for narrow-gauge railways , but it could also be equipped with an automatic coupling .
Modifications
Developed on the basis of the diesel locomotive
- the diesel locomotive energy system ТУ6СПА for the shunting and energy supply of narrow-gauge construction trains
- the diesel locomotive trolley ТУ6Д , equipped with a freight platform and a hydraulic crane
- the ТУ6П passenger trolley for the transportation of engineering personnel and workers.
