The locomotives of the series ТУ8Г of the Soviet Railways (SŽD) are narrow-gauge draisines . They were built between 1988 and 2010 in the Kambarka machine factory for internal transport at railway companies and for use in industrial companies.
construction
The vehicles were built in the Kambarka machine factory as the successor to the ТУ6Д . The basic construction was largely retained. The main difference was the use of a JaMZ-236M ( Russian ЯМЗ-236 М ) diesel engine. For this purpose, the front end was lengthened by a door, which also simplified maintenance work for the generator and the compressor.
The first vehicle (ТУ8Г-0001) was built in 1988. The vehicles ТУ8Г-0022 - ТУ8Г-0027 were produced with 1067 mm bogies for the cape gauge network of the Russian Pacific island Sakhalin ( Sakhalinskaya schelesnaja doroga ). The ТУ8Г-0030 was built for the track width of 1520 mm. A total of 30 vehicles were built by 2010.
The draisine consists of the following main assemblies: vehicle part, motor unit, gearbox, auxiliary equipment, loading crane. The vehicle part consisted of the main frame with drawbar and bumpers , the cabin and two two-axle drive bogies. The frame rests on plain bearings, hard rubber elements serve to dampen vibrations. The power is transmitted mechanically by cardan shafts. A hydraulic crane for loading and unloading is mounted on the platform. The crane can be controlled from a stationary console or by a wired remote control. The cabin has five seats for the transport of the work brigades (including the driver).

On the basis of the vehicles, the following were also created:
- the SŽD series ТУ8П passenger trolley for passenger transport
- the SŽD class ТУ8 diesel locomotive , the basic model of the series
- the diesel locomotive energy apparatus SŽD series ТУ6СПА for the transfer and energy supply of construction trains
