The class ТЭМ1 (German transcription TEM1) locomotive of the Soviet Railways (SŽD) was a broad-gauge diesel locomotive . The superstructure and diesel engine were taken over from the ТЭ1 while the bogies and traction motors come from the ТЭ3 . 1946 locomotives were built and used throughout the former Soviet Union . Later, the reinforced version Т2М2 appeared .

history

The first ТЭМ1 was delivered by the Bryansk locomotive factory from 1958 . A year later, 120 pieces were produced. In June 1964, the factory delivered the 1000th of the series. The highest output of ТЭМ1 was reached in 1967 with 271 units, before production was discontinued in favor of the successor series ТЭМ2 the next year . Many design changes were made during production.

The ТЭМ1 was in shunting technology where both marshalling yards as well as for the operation of sidings came from industrial plants used.

technology

The bogies with the traction motors , the fuel tank and the cooling system were taken over from the ТЭ3 series . The main generator and the two-engine unit are identical to the ТЭ1 and ТЭ2 .

Instead of the D50 diesel engine used on the ТЭ1 and ТЭ2 , the new, more powerful 2D50 engine was installed. This differs from the D50 in that it has a modified camshaft which improves the valve timing, a more powerful fan for the supercharging of the engine and a more aerodynamically efficient exhaust manifold . The above improvements resulted in a 15% increase in performance over the D50.

A total of 142 locomotives were overhauled and repowered. This work was in 1976 by the repair shop Astrakhan executed, and from 1984 in the repair shop Mitschurinski . External features of the overhauled locomotives were the wider and longer stems. In which it was ЧМЭ3 motor K6S310DR used incorporated what the performance of the locomotive increased to 1350 hp.
