The locomotives of the 2ТЭ10В (German transcription 2TE10W ) of the Soviet Railways (SŽD) were broad-gauge diesel locomotives with diesel-electric power transmission primarily for freight train service. They belonged to the double locomotives of the ТЭ10 family and were derived from the series 2ТЭ10Л . They were nicknamed Voroshilovgradska with reference to the location of the manufacturing plant.

history

Parallel to the production of the 2ТЭ10Л , the Luhansk Locomotive Factory began building this locomotive in 1975, which is to be regarded as a modification of this series. The main parameters of the new locomotive were identical to those of the original machine . The most obvious difference, as with all the other two-, three- and four-section machines of this locomotive family that followed, was the equipment with new bogies and a new body similar to the 2ТЭ116, which appeared in 1971 . Compared to the following model series, the vehicle face was designed somewhat differently, which is reflected in the changed center position headlights, the headlights located a little higher and the roof protruding further. The two-machine unit was positioned under the driver's cab.

The electric traction drive motors were those of the ED-118A series . The mass of the new diesel locomotive has been increased to 276 t. The starting tractive effort was the same as with the 2ТЭ10Л , as was the top speed of 100 km / h.

A total of 1,898 locomotives of the 2ТЭ10В series were delivered from 1975 to 1981. When numbering the locomotives that of the 2ТЭ10Л was continued. Of the two series together, 5,090 locomotives were produced.

3ТЭ10В

In 1978, two sections of the 2ТЭ10В with a middle section without a driver's cab were added to a three-part locomotive with the series designation 3ТЭ10В. This created the first three-part diesel locomotive in the former Soviet Union .
