The S-Arena (full name: Sparkassen-Arena , until July 1, 2010: Osterfeldstadion ) is a football stadium in Goslar, Lower Saxony . The soccer club Goslarer SC 08 plays its home games here. The facility was rebuilt from November 2009 to April 2010 in order to meet the requirements of the DFB for the regional league and the Oberliga Niedersachsen . The stadium has an athletics facility , which can no longer be used due to the construction of the grandstands. The S-Arena has a capacity of 5,001 spectators, of which 1,206 partially covered seats and 3,795 standing places are accommodated. To rename the venue on July 1, 2010, Goslarer SC 08 and Eintracht Braunschweig met for a test match in the Goslar stadium.

modification

The renovation work began in November 2009. The following cold winter meant that the work had to be interrupted for the time being, which made it clear that the planned completion date of February 2010 could not be met. But even when the weather conditions became more favorable again, construction could not be continued because a resident had a temporary construction freeze after a complaint about suspected noise pollution. However, this was lifted on March 29, 2010 after the city of Goslar requested that the construction stop be lifted through changes in the building permit. These changes include the following noise-reducing measures:

The following applies to loudspeakers: they must not be installed above the stadium roofs. The use of the public address system must not exceed 95 minutes per game, and the sound power level of the 22 individual loudspeakers must not exceed a value of 110 decibels - for the output power, not the value that arrives on the property of the residents. If more than 2,500 spectators are expected, personal checks and measures by the security service must ensure that no fanfares, horns, horns, sirens or similar noise instruments operated with compressed air or gas can be used in the stadium.

After the construction freeze was lifted, construction continued immediately. Although the stadium was not yet completely finished, the stadium was released on April 15, 2010 after a safety officer of the DFB for the Regionalliga home game against Türkiyemspor Berlin , which Goslarer SC 08 won 4-2. The topping-out ceremony took place on April 28, 2010 when the GSC 08 met the second team from VfL Wolfsburg . The official stadium opening was on May 22nd, 2010 against SV Babelsberg 03 . Before and during the renovation work, the GSC 08 played its home games in Braunschweig's Eintracht Stadium .

Stadium facility

In addition to the stadium itself, the stadium area also includes two natural turf , one artificial turf and one hard court. In Sudmerberg, a district of Goslar, there is another grass pitch of the GSC 08.
