History and mineralization

The highly mineralized and 21 ° C warm mineral water springs in the Brembana Valley have been known for 700 years. The first analyzes of the mineral water were carried out in 1782. As early as 1908, S.Pellegrino was sold worldwide.

According to the water quality analysis from 2015, the water contains the following ion concentration in mg / L: Sulphate: 410; Hydrogen carbonate: 207; Calcium: 160; Chloride: 47; Magnesium: 53; Sodium: 32; Fluoride: 0.44; Evaporation residue : 940; and the pH is 5.6.

Chemical tests of the mineral water by independent bodies (since 2007) and by the company itself (last published in 2015) showed uranium concentrations between 4.0 and 8.0 µg / L (mean value from 12 analyzes 6.3 µg / L). The upper guide value in Germany is 10 µg / L for drinking water and 2 µg / L for water that is suitable for the preparation of baby food.

Since there are no legal regulations for labeling the uranium concentration of mineral waters, there is no need for action on the part of the manufacturer.
