The Sanpellegrino SpA is an Italian beverage company based in Milan . The company is part of the Nestlé Group. The best- known product is the S.Pellegrino mineral water .

history

The company was founded as Società Anonima delle Terme di San Pellegrino on May 21, 1899. The company was initially based in San Pellegrino Terme , where the source for the mineral water, S.Pellegrino, is located. In 1904 the company financed the construction of the San Pellegrino- Bergamo railway line . In 1957 the company took over the mineral water manufacturer Acqua Panna , and in 1970 it became, according to its own statements, the largest beverage manufacturer in Italy.

Since 1998, Sanpellegrino has been part of Nestlé Waters within the Nestlé Group.
