Point72 Asset Management (formerly SAC Capital ) is an investment company founded in 1992 by Steven A. Cohen , which is registered on the Caribbean island of Anguilla . The administrative headquarters are in Stamford , northeast of New York. The company runs several hedge funds , the largest of which, SAC Capital Advisors , was worth $ 4 billion in 2003. Other funds are: SAC Capital Associates , SAC Healthco Funds , SAC Capital Management , SAC Capital Partners , Sigma Capital Management , SAC MultiQuant Fund , SAC Arbitrage Fund .

In 2013 it was decided that SAC would pay a fine of € 1.3 billion for insider trading and fraud and from then on only manage its own capital. A court had to approve the deal between SAC and the public prosecutor's office. This happened on April 10, 2014. In the course of this, the company was renamed Point72 Asset Management .
