SAMIL Trucks ( S outh A frican MIL itary) are the standard trucks of the South African Army . These were remanufactured types from Magirus-Deutz and licensed buildings with various components from local production. The reconstruction was done for the South African Defense Force , partly until 1998 for the South African National Defense Force .

The civilian versions of the vehicles were sold under the brands "SAMAG" ( S outh A frican Mag irus) and "SAKOM".

Types

  • SAMIL 20: modified Magirus-Deutz 130M7FAL (2 × 2, 4-tonner, air-cooled engine, variant Mark II with a water-cooled engine from Atlantis Diesel Engine )
  • SAMIL 50: modified Magirus-Deutz 192D12AL (4 × 4, 5-tonner, air-cooled engine, variant Mark II with a water-cooled engine from Atlantis Diesel Engine )
