The no. 6 to 9 of the sand railway company of the count of Ballestrem were fünffachgekuppelte tank locomotives for operation on the sand track Peiskretscham in Silesia .

history

The first five-coupled tank locomotives were delivered by Borsig to the Upper Silesian Sand Railways as early as 1913. Count von Ballestrem's sand railway company also received its first such 1'E h2 locomotive in 1913. In 1924 and 1929 two more locomotives of the type 1'E1 'h2 were added, the dimensions of which corresponded to the animal class of the Halberstadt-Blankenburg Railway , but were designed to be heavier with an axle load of almost 20 t.

TKz-211 in the Warsaw Railway Museum (1994)

In 1935, two locomotives of an even more powerful design with an axle pressure of 20.4 t were built at Borsig , which were given the company numbers 6 and 7. Borsig manufactured two other such locomotives in 1937 and 1938. They were given the numbers 8 and 9.

After the Second World War, the sand railway company was expropriated by the Polish state. After 1945, the locomotives were taken over by the newly established state sand railway Przedsiębiorstwo Materiałów Podsadzkowych Przemysłu Węglowego (PMPPW) and were given the new numbers TKz 208 to 211.

One of the locomotives - the former No. 9 - came to the Warsaw Railway Museum after its retirement in 1985 . Today it is part of the permanent exhibition there.
