The SC Balkhausen-Türnich (officially: Sportclub Balkhausen-Türnich 1919 eV ) was a sports club from the Kerpen districts of Balkhausen and Türnich in the Rhein-Erft district . The first soccer team played for two years in the highest amateur league in the Middle Rhine region.
history
The association was founded in 1919. In 1947 the first team became champions in the Bergheim district and rose to the district class. Four years later, he was promoted to the state league , the highest amateur league on the Middle Rhine at the time. After a tenth place in the promotion season, the Balkhausen team had to relegate a year later. In 1956 it was promoted again to the state league, which was only the second highest amateur league after the simultaneous introduction of the Mittelrhein Association League.
After only a year it went back to the district class. In 1963, the team was runner-up there behind the TuS Höhenhaus before the club disappeared into the lower divisions. In 1996 SC Balkhausen-Türnich merged with VfB Brüggen, which was founded in 1919, to form SpVg Balkhausen-Brüggen-Türnich .
