The SG Bünde 08 was a sports club from Bünde in the Herford district . The first soccer team played for a year in the highest amateur league in Westphalia.

The sports community Bünde 08 was founded in 1951 when the sports community Bünde-Südlengern split into SG Bünde 08 and TuS Eintracht Bünde . Still under the name SG Bünde-Südlengern, the team became champions of the Herford district class in 1947 , but failed in the promotion round to the regional league at TSV Detmold and FC Höxter . After VfL Witten rose to the Oberliga West , the Bünder got an additional chance to rise. In a play-off in neutral Münster , the SG met Eintracht Nordhorn , who won the game 1-0.

In 1951, the 08 runners-up in the district class behind Union Herford . Three years later, he was promoted to the state league, which at the time was the highest amateur league in Westphalia. Despite a 1-0 victory over Arminia Bielefeld , the Bünder were bottom of the table and returned to the district class after just one year. While SV Ennigloh 09 took over the leadership role in the city with the league promotion in 1959, the 08ers fought more and more against relegation.

In 1960 the Bünder dropped out of the district class and returned after just one year. In the district class season 1961/62 the SG was knocked off bottom of the table. In 1973 SG Bünde 08 merged with SV Ennigloh 09 to form Bünder SV . Before that, a planned merger with TuS Eintracht Südlengern failed in spring 1971 .
