The SG Croatia Frankfurt was a sports club from Frankfurt . The first soccer team played for a year in the then fourth-class Oberliga Hessen .

history

The club was founded in the early 1990s as SV Croatia Frankfurt . In 1995 the first team rose to the Landesliga Hessen-Süd . A year later the name was changed to SG Croatia Frankfurt . After several years in the midfield of the regional league, Croatia won the championship in 2000 and was promoted to the Hessian Oberliga. The major league season 2000/01 ended the team in penultimate place and was passed down a year later in the national league. Before the start of the season, the club made headlines because he wanted to sign the Croatian international Davor Šuker . However, this moved to TSV 1860 Munich . In 2004 the association was dissolved for financial reasons. Three years later, a successor club was founded with FC Croatia Frankfurt .
